Plastics Group of America recently installed a new vertical silo mixer at its plant in Woonsocket, where it is based.
The mixer can hold up to 28,000 pounds and will be used to homogenize large batches of resins and regrinds prior to pelletizing or compounding. The machine is Plastics Group’s third mixer, complementing in-house abilities to shred, grind and densify recycled materials.
Plastics Group has annual sales of about $30 million, generating more than half of that from Polifil-brand filled polypropylene compounds for food packaging, medical items and trays.
