MUMBAI, INDIA — PVC door and window profile maker Encraft India Pvt. Ltd. is expanding its Dehradun, India, plant. The Delhi-headquartered company added a new extrusion line and two mixing lines in January.
“As part of further expansion, we will commission two more extrusion lines in July this year,” said Maja Hoellrigl, president, marketing & operational systems, at the recent Vinyl India conference in Mumbai.
Encraft profiles are designed for India’s tropical conditions. The company, which is a member of the Indian Green Building Council, says its profiles are free from lead and other hazardous substances.
The company launched eight new products at the recent Fensterbau Frontale India 2014 show in Delhi.
The firm has capacity to produce 900 kilograms of PVC profiles per hour, and with the new extrusion lines it expects that to increase to 1,300 kilograms per hour in July.
The company see huge growth potential in the PVC profile market. “India’s PVC profile market is at a nascent stage … [and] it has huge potential with growing infrastructure and modern housing complexes,” Maja said. The PVC window and profile market is growing in between 10-20 percent annually. India’s total PVC profile market size is in between 25,000-30,000 tonnes annually.
Maja said India’s profile market is highly unregulated and needs to be controlled by standards to improve overall product quality. “There are no standards in the market at the moment,” she stressed.
The company has seven distribution centers, including one in Noida that opened earlier this year.
